The terres Catalunya – INTERNATIONAL ECO & TRAVEL FILM FESTIVAL presented its second edition at the International Tourism Fair of Madrid, FITUR, within the framework of the Tourism of Catalonia stand. In this second edition of 2018, the terres festival, which is the only specialized in tourist and landscape cinema that is celebrated in Catalonia and throughout the State, will keep the 3 competitions, which comprise films dedicated to Tourist Communication, Documentaries and Corporate Films.
Among the main novelties for this second edition, it should be noted that Catalonia has been included as a candidate member of the CIFFT (International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals) and has incorporated its main sponsors to Airbnb. In addition to the support of this platform, terres continues to be with that of the Tortosa City Council, the Catalan Tourism Agency and the Diputació de Tarragona. Companies like B The Travel Brand, SB Hotels or Sant Josep Vins have also confirmed their support for the festival.
The presentation ceremony was attended by the mayor of Tortosa, Ferran Bel, the Councilor for Tourism of the City Council of Tortosa, Josep Felip Monclús, representatives of the Catalan Tourism Agency, and Hugo Marcos, general secretary of CIFFT and Director of ART & TUR – International Tourism Film Festival with which terres has renewed the partnership agreement, and the promoter of the festival, Santi Valldepérez.
The terres Catalunya – INTERNATIONAL ECO & TRAVEL FILM FESTIVAL will be held from 2 to 5 May in Tortosa. The screenings will take place between the small room of the Auditorium Felip Pedrell and the Mercat de Tortosa. The organization reports that the inscriptions move at a good pace for the three competitions and that it is expected to overcome the good participation of the last edition, in which 98 productions from 12 different countries were present in the official competition, from 12 Different countries (United States, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Taiwan, India, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Slovenia, Portugal and Italy) and with about 500 spectators in the different projection sessions.
Apart from being a festival dedicated to tourism audiovisual, land is also a space for reflection and debate around the communication of the tourist experience, and in this sense, the terres LAB congress is celebrated in the same days, which It hosts conferences, round tables, workshops and “case studies” to share and analyze professional experiences and new trends, but also to reflect from the academic and knowledge fields. The organization has announced that at the end of this month of January it will announce the complete program of the second terres LAB edition.
In addition, the exhibitions “Catalunya des del Cel” (produced by the Agència Catalana de Turisme) and “La otra ruta”, by the Spanish photographer of Peruvian origin, Morgana Vargas Llosa (ceded by B The Travel Brand), will be able to visit -to visit in Tortosa during the festival days.
