A screening that explores three very different environmental realities, from wildlife conservation to the protection of oceans and the preservation of wetlands.

“Conserving a Species: One Rhino at a Time | Babanango Game Reserve” (3’) offers an inside look at rhino conservation efforts in South Africa and the complex work carried out by ecologists, veterinarians and specialists to reduce the risk of poaching. A glimpse into the active conservation and scientific and human effort behind protecting a threatened species.

“Spoiled” (19’) focuses on the efforts of local communities, fishers and environmental organisations to protect South Africa’s oceans from the expansion of offshore oil and gas exploration and extraction. A story of resistance, commitment and hope that calls for the protection of marine ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.

Finally, “Wetlands” (26’) takes us to Poland to explore the importance of wetlands, among the fastest-disappearing ecosystems on the planet. The film reflects on the impact of transforming these landscapes and the need to restore and protect them as essential reserves of biodiversity and water.
