The President of the Associació UNESCO d’Igualada, Miquel Segura, and the director of the Terres Catalunya festival, Santi Valldepérez signed on Wednesday March 14 a collaboration agreement between the festival and the e-Platform of UNESCO, an audiovisual archive that houses nearly 600 documentaries with stories from around the world on development. The act of signing the agreement for this year 2018es was held at the Chamber of Commerce of Tortosa with the presence of Mr. Federico Mayor Zaragoza, who was General Secretary of UNESCO between 1987 and 1999.
The UNESCO Association of Igualada is the driving force and custodian of this audiovisual archive and also has the mission of conceptualizing, producing, evaluating and disseminating audiovisual projects that transmit the ideals, values and objectives of UNESCO in all its areas of interest. action: culture, science and communication. In this sense, the spirit of the terres festival fits with the philosophy of the e-Platform of UNESCO.
The signed agreement also establishes that the festival is organized with the support of UNESCO International Center for Audiovisual Creativity, and that a member of the Association takes part in the scientific committee of terres LAB, the Congress on Audiovisual, Tourism and Landscape
The e-Platform was created in 2004 and since then it has managed to attract about 8,000 users.
