Synopsis

Everyone knows the lobster, but it's more likely to be found on a plate than in a crevice 40 meters below the surface. The most common, the red lobster, is the symbol of Corsican fishing. An emblematic species of the island, of gastronomic and tourist interest, its fate is of concern to fishermen and scientists alike. For some years now, the quantities caught have been decreasing at an alarming rate, threatening the survival of the species and, by the same token, that of many artisanal fishing villages such as Centuri. Faced with this problem, scientists, fishermen and divers are joining forces to preserve the species. Beyond the lobster itself, it's the entire culinary and cultural identity of Corsica that is at stake. The preservation of the red lobster has become a quest for Corsican heritage.

Objectives

to highlight the work of scientists and fishermen, to make lobster fishing more equitable in order to guarantee its preservation, to raise public awareness of the depletion of fish stocks.
