Synopsis
Foxes Safari Camps, a portfolio of seven camps and lodges within Western and Southern Tanzania, showcases their island destination along the Swahili coastline. Lazy Lagoon, a gem in the Foxes Safari Camps portfolio, is a 9 kilometre private island and features 12 A-Frame, ensuite bandas (bungalows). Filmed and produced by Love Africa Marketing, this promotional short film is narrated by the lodge’s clerk, Abdul Fungo, who describes the ‘pole pole’ or ‘slow slow’ life on the island, the cultural relevance of the ocean to heal and renew us, and the need to take a break from everyday life and reset on Lazy Lagoon Island. Through this short promotional video, we aim to highlight Lazy Lagoon as a desirable island escape and holiday destination along the Swahili Coastline.
Objectives
This promotional short film was produced to showcase a lesser-known island escape along the Swahili Coast, and the benefits of spending time by the ocean. The footage highlights how intimate and exclusive the island is, the cultural heritage and beliefs that make visiting the island more than just a holiday, but a healing and renewing experience. The film itself focuses on the Tanzanian phrase ‘Pole Pole’ meaning ‘slow slow’ and how Lazy Lagoon Island allows you to live ‘slow slow,’ disconnecting from the busy-ness of everyday life. It evokes the peace and reconnection that comes with being by the ocean and the Pole Pole lifestyle of Foxes Safari Camp offers on Lazy Lagoon Island Lodge
