Screening and Presentation of “The Stolen hour”

What happens when a destination welcomes millions of visitors, while part of its population cannot access decent housing? La hora robadaThe Stolen Hour– is a documentary project that explores the consequences of overtourism in Gran Canaria through the voices of young people, workers, local residents and community organisations witnessing how tourism is transforming their surroundings and everyday lives.

Co-director Pablo Santiago will present the documentary’s creative process and engage in a conversation with the audience about rising housing costs, job insecurity, pressure on natural resources and the need to move towards a fairer and more sustainable tourism model.

Aimed especially at teenage and young audiences from Tortosa’s secondary schools, the event is conceived as a space for reflection and debate on the power of audiovisual storytelling to explain the defining conflicts of our time and help transform reality. More information.
