“Spanish Olive Grove” (76’) is a finalist documentary in the Official Competition · History and Heritage category, exploring the history and culture of olive trees and olive oil in Spain, an essential part of the Mediterranean landscape and way of life for thousands of years.
The film travels through different olive-producing regions across the country to explore olive oil varieties, production methods and traditions linked to olive cultivation, as well as the environmental and socio-economic challenges facing the sector. A look at the agricultural, cultural and human heritage surrounding the olive tree and the need to develop more sustainable practices to ensure its continuity for future generations.
