This is the story of a man and his dream. It is about how a Sevillian icon was built, being nowadays one of the most interesting and worldwide known architectural buildings. This is Anibal Gonzalez’s and the Spanish Square story.

 

Arturo Pérez-Reverte says that “nobody could ever come up with a city like Seville”. The truth is that there was a time when some chosen men had the chance to transform the physionogmy of the city and create new identity symbols in a millennial city. Since then, Seville has a pending debt with Regionalism. Justice has not been done and the style that nowadays shapes the image of the city itself and the nest that wraps the sublime monumentality have not been acknowledged yet. And it was Anibal Gonzalez who started and lead this movement that perfectly connects with the Sevillian personality, arising as its own style. Seville would not be the same without Anibal’s work and his buildings are already part of the universal history as a legacy that nowadays is worldwide admired.

Europa té un problema amb l’assimilació, gestió, regularització i integració de refugiats i immigrants. En un moment o hi ha un gran debat, polarització i instrumentalització política sobre la inmigració, sobretot la il.legal, i les

mirades de polítics i mitjans es centren en el mar mediterrani, volia recordar la crítica i pràcticament distòpica situació dels inmigrants il.legals intentant creuar el canal de la mànega. 

Milers d’immigrants il·legals, incloent-hi famílies amb nens i menors no acompanyats, s’amaguen als boscos prop de Calais i Dunkerque, a França. El Regne Unit s’ha convertit en la seva última esperança per començar una nova vida després de no haver obtingut residència, permís de treball o estatus de refugiat a Europa.

La creuada il·legal del Canal de la Mànega amb contrabandistes és perillosa, i la policia francesa està decidida a aturar el seu viatge. Fins i tot si aconsegueixen creuar la nova i controvertida llei migratòria del Regne Unit, que planteja preocupacions sobre el seu impacte en els drets humans bàsics i en els drets d’asil, hi ha la possibilitat de ser enviats de tornada.

Això planteja la pregunta: Estem arribant a un punt de no retorn en com Europa i el Regne Unit tracten els immigrants il·legals, deshumanitzant-los i sense trobar una solució per a un problema que continua persistint i potencialment empitjorar?

En aquesta entrega, Punt de No Retorn és testimoni de la vida als campaments de Calais i acompanya als voluntaris i activistes de Utopia 56, una xarxa independent que ofereix assistència i informació les 24 hores del dia els 7 dies de la setmana i supervisa la conducta policial i el compliment dels protocols bàsics de protecció dels migrants.
