The Terres Travel Festival – Films & Creativity has received certification accrediting it as an activity associated with the Terres de l’Ebre Biosphere Reserve. This recognition highlights the festival’s commitment to sustainability, the conservation of natural and cultural heritage, and the promotion of a responsible tourism model rooted in the local area.
The accreditation strengthens the longstanding partnership between Terres Festival and the Biosphere Reserve, which began in 2021 with the creation of the Climent Ferré Award. Presented annually, this award recognises the audiovisual production that best illustrates the values of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve: achieving a balance between biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and the respectful relationship between communities and their environment.
Over the years, the Climent Ferré Award has helped raise the profile of documentaries and productions from around the world that showcase environmental conservation initiatives, responsible ways of inhabiting a territory and experiences capable of inspiring positive change. The new certification also recognises the festival’s alignment with the values of the Biosphere Reserve: a programme focused on travel, nature and responsible tourism; the involvement of local organisations, professionals and suppliers; and a commitment to promoting Terres de l’Ebre internationally through audiovisual storytelling.
Held in Tortosa, within a territory recognised by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve, the Terres Travel Festival regards cinema and tourism communication as tools for discovering the world, raising awareness and promoting new ways of travelling.
