Synopsis

Still, here we wait, with a deep, profound hope. Humanity and nature together compose the symphony of life. Ecology is the ever-flowing melody of life in Aogu. Inspired by the poetry of Du Ye, this film envisions a ‘New Paradise of Wetlands’. Set in the Aogu Wetland and Forest Park, it delicately captures the shifting rhythms of day and night, and the vibrant life that flourishes within. Through its imagery, the film preserves the beauty of transformation — where all living beings coexist between the sea and the sky.

Objectives

Our film is rooted in both ecological documentation and environmental advocacy. It brings international attention to a wetland ecosystem in Dongshi Township, Chiayi County, southern Taiwan — a critical habitat within the East Asian–Australasian Flyway, one of the world’s most important migratory bird corridors. Over two years, our ecological photography team documented the seasonal transformations of this wetland and the lives it sustains. From migratory shorebirds to resident species, we captured the fragile balance that defines wetland ecosystems — landscapes shaped by tides, climate, and human proximity. These wetlands are not isolated environments; they are part of a global ecological network upon which biodiversity depends. At a time when wetlands worldwide are disappearing at an alarming rate, this film serves as both a visual record and a quiet call for stewardship. Through patient observation and long-term commitment, we reveal the beauty, vulnerability, and resilience of this ecosystem, inviting audiences to reconsider humanity’s relationship with nature. We hope to contribute to the global dialogue on conservation and highlight how local ecosystems — even those less internationally known — are vital threads in the shared ecological future of our planet.
