Synopsis
The 'castells' are a tradition that brings enormous richness to the children who build them. Not only do they learn how to climb, they also learn to interact with all kinds of people, values associated with generosity, and how to manage their emotion
Objectives
The "pom de dalt" is the name given to the group of the youngest boys and girls in a colla castellera (human tower team) who climb to the upper levels of a castell (human tower). They are extraordinary children, with cool heads, courage, and a highly refined technique that allows them to master their bodies when climbing to the highest point without affecting the balance of the tower's structure. Any colla that aims to build great castells needs them because these children are, above all, light... As the popular saying goes: "Without children, there are no castells." CANALLA follows three of these teams throughout a season, showing how these kids crown colossal castells and unleash their passion... but also how they suffer accidents, some of them extremely serious. CANALLA reveals the intense technical and psychological work that the colles carry out so that these children learn to face fear, manage their emotions, and overcome traumatic moments. But it also shows the enormous possibilities that open up for these boys and girls by being part of a colla: relationships with people of all ages, all origins, and all social conditions; travel; immersion in a history and an identity... A whole series of experiences that end up turning them into very, very special beings.
