Synopsis

In a landscape without signs or checklists, a quiet journey of “Me Time” unfolds. Set in the rift valley’s Indigenous communities in East of Taiwan , the film traces moments between mountains and fields, where songs, dances, food, and the scent of the earth reconnect people with nature—and with one another. Beginning at the tribal table, millet, mouth harp melodies, bamboo rice, and foraged mountain cuisine become more than flavors; they embody memory, heritage, and shared warmth. Every shared meal and every joined hand marks both a return to the self and a step toward new horizons. Gathering Light in the Valley is a cinematic love letter to the land and to inner awakening. In searching for light, we discover it was never far away—it lives within our stories, in the valley, and in us.
