Synopsis
Via Transilvanica is Romania's first long-distance trail that crosses the country from Putna to Drobeta-Turnu Severin and was created to be traveled on foot, by bike or on horseback. The Tășuleasa Social Association, which has been developing educational, cultural and environmental projects for the past 25 years, inaugurated the 1,400 km trail in 2022 after four and a half years of hard work. The project aimed to promote leisure tourism and the local communities along the trail. The connecting trail contributes to the discovery of Romania's culture, traditions and wilderness, crossing seven historic regions through 10 counties and 12 UNESCO World Heritage sites. It is a project that brings people together to celebrate Romania's often wild nature, ethnic diversity and rich traditions. More than a physical journey, it is an experience that enriches body, mind and soul. It invites travelers to discover the country in its authentic form and, in doing so, to learn something about themselves, while creating a meaningful and lasting impact for the communities along the way. The mini-series created by Alex Dima is about the discovery of the seven cultural-historical regions on the Via Transilvanica. He is a renowned investigative journalist and speaks candidly about everything that comes his way on his travels on the path that unites, with a much-needed new voice. The documentary is created together with Banca Transilvania, Tășuleasa Social Association’s strategic partner.
