Synopsis
Saalbach-Hinterglemm lies at the heart of Austria and is one of the Alps' most renowned ski regions. The documentary takes the viewers on a journey of discovery, seeking out the animals, plants and patches of wilderness that exist in this popular winter tourist destination. It is an exploration of a world subjected to constant transformation as a result of a changing climate and human activity - a world in which wildlife has to adapt and in which people have an important role to protect.
Objectives
This nature film documentary naturally shows impressive animal, behaviour, nature and landscape shots. The Saalbach - Hinterglemm region (Salzburg / Austria) lies in the heart of the Alps, the most densely populated mountain range in the world. In addition to ‘wild nature’, there are numerous areas here - where nature meets people, their economic activities and the associated infrastructure. This film shows how the region and its people deal with the current challenges, what efforts and initiatives there are to enable a future-oriented coexistence - and there are success stories to report. This documentary highlights the beauty and resilience of nature, showing how tourism can support – rather than harm – fragile ecosystems when approached with care and respect.
