Yew – a tree full of contradictions: poisonous and medicinal, legendary and forgotten. As a species with a rich and long history, it was intensively exploited for centuries, primarily for the unique properties of its wood, which nearly led to its complete extinction in Poland. Polish foresters have implemented a nationwide yew restoration program aimed at increasing the species' occurrence.
Objectius
Showcase the interesting history of this species in Poland and its historical, cultural, environmental, and economic significance. The film also aims to highlight the efforts of Polish foresters regarding the restitution of the yew tree within the forests.
