DESCRIPTION:A screening that brings together three stories of community, resilience and connection to place, through three very different settings: a small village in Iceland, communities affected by the Noto Peninsula earthquake in Japan, and the southern Andes of Peru.\n“Dancing with Nature” (7’), directed by Rožle Bregar, takes us to Flateyri, a small village in western Iceland with just over 200 inhabitants that has survived two catastrophic avalanches. The documentary portrays the community’s ability to face hardship and trauma, becoming a testament to resilience, solidarity and determination.\n“CHANCHIKIDO Goes to NOTO” (10’) follows Tetsu, the owner of a small chiffon cake shop in Tokyo, and his connection with communities affected by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake. Through his business and his relationship with local producers, Tetsu finds a way to support recovery while creating new connections between urban and rural communities.\n“Q’eswachaka: The Last Inca Bridge” (10’) takes us to the southern Andes of Peru to discover the annual renewal of the Q’eswachaka Inca bridge, an ancestral tradition kept alive through collective community work. The documentary highlights the cultural and symbolic significance of this practice and the importance of preserving Peru’s intangible cultural heritage.\nThree stories that, despite coming from very different territories and cultures, share a common perspective: the strength of communities, the transmission of traditions, and the ability of people to preserve and rebuild their heritage and connection to place.\nFree admission.
