DESCRIPTION:With no experience, maps or fixed destination, three friends decide to build a raft and set off down a tributary of the Amazon River. Their goal: to reach Iquitos, 550 kilometres away, navigating through the rainforest and letting the current determine their course.\n“Adrift on the Amazon”, directed by Pol Ribera i Guàrdia, is an intimate and honest portrait of an unexpected odyssey born from impulse and a desire to live intensely. Beyond the physical journey through the Amazon, the film explores more universal territories such as friendship, freedom, uncertainty and the urge to open ourselves to the world.\nFilmed without a script or prior planning, the camera becomes a travelling companion and a direct witness to everything that unfolds. With minimal equipment and more than ten hours of footage recorded during the adventure, the film preserves an immediate, unfiltered perspective, built entirely from the experiences lived in the moment, complemented by personal diary excerpts, texts and maps.\nA travel story that is also a journey in itself: an encounter with a territory, the people who inhabit it and the limits of the travellers themselves.
