For decades, illegal poaching by subsistence and bushmeat gangs has led the government to declare the homeland of this community “exhausted” of wildlife.\nThe boss finds help on a safari operator and they work together to provide stability to the community. But all is not well. Illness, food stability, and rampant alcoholism hamper basic community needs such as health care and education. Even young girls, just after puberty, are sold by their parents in marriage to feed their families for a year. Dark forces, including South African land speculators, criminal poachers, and their own people conspire against the head. Even elements of the modern world work against the wishes of the boss.
